Deposit guarantee and taxation

Swedish deposit guarantee (Riksgälden), up to 1,150,000 Swedish kronor per customer and credit institution. Nordax and Bank Norwegian are brands of the same NOBA Bank Group AB, so their deposits are counted together for the guarantee (according to the Financial Stability Authority, up to an amount equal to €100,000 in total).

Withholding tax: no Finnish withholding tax, declare it yourself. Finnish withholding tax is not withheld, so you declare the interest yourself. Interest you declare yourself is capital income: 30% up to €30,000 and 34% on the part above that. Foreign tax under a tax treaty is credited in Finland against the tax that Finland imposes on the same income, but not more than the tax that would be payable in Finland on the income. If the source state has collected more than the tax treaty allows, the excess tax is not credited in Finnish taxation, and a refund is claimed from the source state. Read more in the guides deposit guarantee and tax on savings deposits.
