How is the comparison made?
In October 2026 we compared the everyday banking services of fifteen banks and payment providers operating or formerly operating in Finland, using the banks' own price lists and product pages and the FINE Payment Account Comparison. Every figure comes from the page named as its source. The cheapest package means the monthly price for an adult for a current account, online banking and a debit card, without loan, savings-volume or age discounts; at S-Bank and OP it is the member price, which requires a refundable €100 membership share, and the price for other customers is shown separately. In the Säästöpankki and POP Bank groups prices vary by local bank, so one named example bank is used for each, and the savings account interest rate is stated for a deposit of €5,000. Customer satisfaction is from the EPSI Rating Banking and Finance 2026 study, and any information that could not be verified has been left empty (null).
How are business accounts compared?
In October 2026 we compared the business accounts of fifteen banks and payment services that offer or have offered business accounts in Finland, using the providers' own business price lists and product pages, and every figure comes from the page named in the sources. The cheapest option means the lowest monthly price at which a new limited company or sole trader gets a business account, online banking and a debit card without package, loan or membership benefits; if the bank has no package, the price is calculated from the price list's per-service prices (account, online banking, one online statement and a debit card), and it does not include opening fees or transaction fees. In the Säästöpankki and POP Bank groups, prices vary by local bank, so one named example bank is used for them. Banking services are usually exempt from VAT, but some providers (for example Holvi and UKKO.fi) add VAT to their prices; the VAT basis is stated in the notes for each service, and information that could not be verified has been left empty (null).
How are card terminals compared?
The comparison covers card payment solutions that are offered to a Finnish small business as self-service or at a public price list. All figures were collected on 16 October 2026 from the providers' own Finnish price list and product pages, and no third-party comparisons were used. Prices are standard prices, and promotions are described in the notes. Percentages and fixed fees apply to card payments accepted in person. The price for domestic cards means the fee for domestic or EEA consumer cards on the standard plan. The price for international cards applies to cards issued outside the EEA or to international cards. If the price for international cards is not shown, it is tied to the interchange fee or has not been published. The monthly fee is the cheapest mandatory monthly cost of accepting card payments, including a mandatory account subscription or terminal rental, excluding one-off device purchases. The Tap to Pay surcharge per transaction is included when the provider states it. The VAT basis shows whether the device and monthly prices are stated excluding or including VAT. If the provider's page does not say, the VAT basis is marked as unknown. Payment services may be exempt from VAT, but the sale of devices is subject to VAT. Payment links and online payments are marked only if the same provider also offers them. Finnish-language support is marked only if the provider's page mentions support in Finnish or support that operates in Finland. Missing or unclear information is left empty (not known), and the reason is given in the notes. Adyen was left out because it has no self-service for small businesses: pricing is set through sales and with an industry-specific minimum invoice. OP does not publish its own card terminal prices but refers customers to its partners Verifone and Nets at special prices. Nordea's merchant services are provided by Worldline, and it is included as Worldline (Nordea).
How are savings rates compared?
On 16 October 2026 we collected the interest rates of savings accounts and fixed-term deposits (määräaikaistalletus) from the banks that offer deposits to private individuals in Finland and from the Raisin deposit platform. The rates come from the banks' own rate and product pages, price lists and deposit information sheets; figures from comparison sites or news were not used. For banks that take deposits only through Raisin (Morrow Bank, Resurs Bank), the rates are from the bank's product page on raisin.com. The rates are nominal annual rates before tax for an ordinary customer without paid memberships; promotional rates are marked and the normal rate is given if it has been published. If a bank does not publish a rate (the offer is shown only in online banking or at a branch), the value is empty (null) and the reason is given. In the Säästöpankki and POP Bank groups the rates are set by each bank, so the example banks are Säästöpankki Optia and POP Bank Suomen Osuuspankki. The deposit guarantee information is from the Financial Stability Authority's deposit guarantee list and the banks' pages. Rates change often, so check the current rate with the bank before depositing. The comparison is on the savings rates page.
How are private banking services compared?
On 16 October 2026 we collected the asset thresholds and prices of the private banking, premium and wealth management tiers of banks and asset managers operating in Finland from the providers' own websites and price lists. We did not use news, comparison sites or figures from memory. The asset threshold is the euro amount that the provider itself publishes. Its exact wording (for example "over €500,000 of investable assets" or "typically at least") is recorded in the notes, because some thresholds are firm and some are indicative. If a threshold, a monthly fee or the minimum for discretionary management (täyden valtakirjan varainhoito) is not published, the value is empty (null) and the reason is given ("not published"). The monthly fee is 0 only if the provider says there is no fixed fee. Percentage fees for wealth management are practically never published and are agreed in an offer. In the Säästöpankki and POP Bank groups, services and prices may vary by local bank. Handelsbanken is not included because it is winding down its operations in Finland, and neither is Taaleri, because it no longer offers wealth management to private individuals. Check the current terms with the provider before deciding. The comparison is on the private banking page.
How are packages, premium cards and limits compared?
The comparison puts the everyday banking packages and tiers that each bank offers to private customers side by side: base prices, age and owner-customer benefits, loyalty tiers, services for children and young people, and the paid tiers of neobanks. The monthly fee is the price in the bank's official price list for an adult with a current account, online banking and the package's card. If a bank has no package, the amount is calculated from the price list's per-service prices and the calculation method is given in the conditions. For the Säästöpankki and POP Bank group, prices are those of the example banks (Säästöpankki Optia, POP Bank Suomen Osuuspankki). All figures were checked against the banks' own price lists and pages on 16.10.2026; information that could not be verified is marked with the value null and explained. The comparison is on the bank packages page.
On 16.10.2026 we collected the prices, credit terms and benefits of the paid bank account tiers and the premium, gold and platinum cards sold in Finland from the providers' own product pages, price lists, card terms and standard European consumer credit information (SECCI). Figures from comparison sites or news articles were not used. The effective annual interest rate (APR) and its example calculation are quoted word for word as published by the provider, because the assumptions of the example (credit amount, loan period, monthly and billing fees) have a decisive effect on the figure; for that reason the APRs of different banks cannot be compared directly without the examples. The monthly fee is the list price without membership, customer-tier or package discounts; member and package prices are given separately. The annual fee is shown only if the provider publishes an annual price. In the Säästöpankki and POP Bank groups prices are set by each bank, so the example banks are Säästöpankki Optia and Suomen Osuuspankki. The travel insurance descriptions are summaries of the product pages and insurance terms; the conditions and limitations of a claim are always in the insurance terms. If a figure is not published, the value is empty (null) and the reason is given. Terms change often, so check the current information with the provider before applying. The comparison is on the premium accounts and cards page. Pankkitutka does not rank credit cards by interest rate, and credit products carry no sponsored links.
The limits were collected on 16 October 2026 from the banks' own websites, help pages, card terms and price lists. Third-party articles were not used as sources. All amounts are in euros. Default means the limit the bank has set in advance, and maximum (Max) means the highest limit the customer can set themselves. If a bank states only a range (for example €0-5,000), the value is recorded as the maximum and the default is null. Null means the bank does not publish the figure or it was not found; the reason is given in the notes. Finnish banks often do not publish default card limits, because the limits are set by the customer or per customer. Card safety limits and account safety limits (or payment limits) are different things: an account limit can also restrict debit card payments. A monthly limit means the period stated by the bank, which can be a calendar month or a rolling 30 or 31 days. Limits change, so check the current situation in your own mobile or online bank. Guide: bank card limits.
Where do the ratings come from?
The ratings in the ratings sections are public ratings from Trustpilot, the Finnish App Store and Google Play, retrieved 16 October 2026. Pankkitutka does not edit ratings, does not quote review texts and does not mark them up for search engines with review markup. Google Play figures cover all countries combined, and notes on small samples and on unclaimed or shared profiles appear on every page. Read bank ratings and reviews compared.
How are investment services compared?
On 16 October 2026 we collected the prices of banks, brokers, fund companies and foreign investment apps operating in Finland from their own price lists (price list PDFs, price pages, cost statements and terms). We did not use figures from comparison sites, news or memory. For trading prices, the main value is the ordinary price paid by a customer who trades rarely (for example Nordnet level 3 and OP's book-entry account level 1). A new customer's time-limited price is shown separately: Nordnet level 1 for the first two months and OP level 3 for the first quarter. In the Säästöpankki and POP Bank groups, prices are set by each bank, so the example banks are Avain Säästöpankki and POP Bank Suomen Osuuspankki. Fund costs are ongoing charges or management fees, depending on what the fund company publishes, and which one applies is marked. The prices of foreign brokers come from the price lists of their EU company; minimums in USD are marked with the currency. If the information was not found in the provider's own sources, the value is empty (null) and the reason is given. Prices change, so check the current price with the provider before deciding. The comparison is on the investing page. It covers costs and is not investment advice.
